Everyday Needs
Most ferns like an evenly moist soil with regular waterings. Allowing he soil to dry out between waterings stresses these plants. Avoid direct sunlight, they prefer filtered light or shade.
It is important to keep the potting soil moist but not wet. A pot with drainage holes is best, or you can put rocks in the bottom. Place near a window where they can get at least 6 hours of filtered light. Fertilize every 6-8 weeks with a flower food liquid fertilizer.
Choose a container with good drainage or a layer of rocks on the bottom. Succulents love light and require at least 6 hours of sun per day. Try rotating them every few weeks to avoid them leaning towards the light. Water on the soil only, never the leaves, and allow soil to dry completely between waterings, about every 3 weeks.
Avoid direct sunlight, most orchids are extremely susceptible to sunburn. Please in a spot that gets morning or afternoon filtered sun. Never overwater; orchids love humidity but cannot handle being overwatered or allowed to dry out completely. Every 7 to 10 days should be sufficient. Under no circumstances should an orchid be left to sit in water.
After your orchid has flowered, the blooms will dry up along with the stem. As long as the leaves are green and the roots are healthy and plump, it will rebloom. You may want to take this opportunity to repot your orchid in fresh potting medium. Repotting helps promote the overall health and new growth of your orchid.
Outdoor flowering plants mainly require proper lighting and lots of water, but don't overwater. Rotating plants every few weeks will keep them growing evenly and deadheading spent blooms will increase rebloom in addition to a liquid fertilizer.
Keeping your new floral arrangement out of direct sunlight and heat will extend the life. In addition, give your stems a diagonal cut daily and fresh cool water.
